1. I am an ICANN-accredited registrar; do I need to get certification from PIR?
Yes, all registrars who wish to make transactions with the .ORG registry must successfully complete Operational Testing and Evaluation (OT&E) certification and meet PIR's legal, business and financial requirements. Completing the OT&E process will help ensure that your system will function properly, which safeguards your .ORG revenue and protects your customers.

2. How often are the zone files updated?
Zone files are updated in nearly real time.

3. Can I register Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) in .ORG?
.ORG Danish, German, Hungarian, Icelandic, Korean (Hangul), Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish and Swedish script IDN registrations are now available, in compliance with the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) IDN standards and Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) IDN guidelines.

PIR will inform registrars as additional language scripts are available for registration.

4. How are connections allotted?
To meet the equivalent access policies, each registrar is allowed up to 15 connections.

5. What is the price of .ORG registrations?
Registrars are charged $6 per name per year.

6. When and where can I get .ORG zone files?
To receive the .ORG zone files, you will need to complete and submit a Zone File Access Agreement with PIR.

7. Where is the registrar Web-based admin tool located?
The registrar Web-based admin tool is located at https://admin.publicinterestregistry.net. This is the Web-based client and registrar administration tool for use by accredited registrars.

8. What are the ICANN-reserved domain names? What happens to one- and two-character domain names?
Certain domains are to be reserved per ICANN's directive. (See Appendix K.) The domain names listed there, including all one-character and two-character domain names, are reserved "from initial (i.e., other than renewal) registration within the TLD." In other words, should any of those previously registered domain names be allowed to expire, or if they are deleted, they will be placed on reserved status and will NOT be made available to the public for registration again.
