Registrar Resources
BECOME A REGISTRAR
Parties interested in becoming a registrar for the .ORG top-level domain (TLD) must first be accredited by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Once you are ICANN accredited, complete the three steps outlined below to become a .ORG registrar.

Step 1: Apply
To complete Step 1, you must have:
  • Two signed original Confidentiality Agreements.
  • One completed Registrar Data Form.
  • One completed and signed Facsimile Authorization Form.

Step 2: Meet technical requirements
To complete Step 2, you must:
  • Obtain a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate from an accepted certificate authority.
  • Successfully complete Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E).

Step 3: Complete business and legal documentation
To complete Step 3, you must have:
  • Two signed original Registry-Registrar Agreements.
  • One signed original Registrar Financial Data Form.
  • Payment security: cash deposit or an irrevocable letter of credit from a bank.
  • Copy of your company's formation documents.
  • Copy of your company's insurance certificate.
