Alexa A. S. Raad joined PIR as CEO in July 2007. She brings more than 20 years of experience from the telecommunications, payment and Internet sectors. Prior to becoming CEO of PIR, Ms. Raad was the Chief Marketing Officer of dotMobi, an Ireland-based joint venture company. She was instrumental in the start-up of dotMobi in 2005 and in making the .mobi domain one of the most successful TLD launches. Ms. Raad had direct responsibility for the major marketing and business development functional areas of the company, including developing and implementing an international marketing and public relations strategy, building a global sales channel, launching new products and services, meeting revenue targets, and establishing a policy strategy for the corporation.
Prior to her tenure at dotMobi, Ms. Raad was a senior business development manager at VeriSign in Dulles, Virginia, where she developed new markets and channels for radio frequency identification (RFID) and supply chain and logistics-related technologies as well as for Internationalized Domain Names (IDN).
Ms. Raad has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from University of Maryland, as well as a master’s of business administration and a master’s of science in information systems, both from George Washington University.
David W. Maher — Senior Vice President, Law and Policy

David W. Maher became senior vice president for law and policy of Public
Interest Registry (PIR) in September 2004. From 1999 until 2002, he served as
vice president for public policy of the Internet Society. In 2002, he became a
member of the founding board of PIR and served as chairman until August 2004.
Maher is a registered patent attorney with extensive experience in intellectual
property, communications and entertainment law. He is admitted to the bar in
New York, Illinois, Wisconsin, and the United States Patent and Trademark
Office. Maher served for more than 20 years as general counsel to the Better
Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois Inc. and was the recipient of
the bureau's Torch of Integrity Award in 1999. He currently is a director of
the bureau.
In 1996, as a well-regarded authority on Internet domain names, Maher was asked
by the Internet Society to serve on the 11-member International Ad Hoc
Committee (IAHC). In 1997, he became chairman of the Policy Oversight
Committee, the successor to IAHC. The IAHC developed proposals that included,
for the first time, provisions for expeditious resolution of disputes with
cybersquatters. These proposals were later adopted by the World Intellectual
Property Organization (WIPO) and now form the nucleus of the Internet
Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Uniform Dispute Resolution
Policy (UDRP), which provides a global arbitration and mediation system for
trademark-domain name disputes. Maher is a member of the WIPO Arbitration and
Mediation Center Panel of Neutrals.
Maher currently serves as a member of the visiting committee to the divinity
school at the University of Chicago. Maher is a cum laude graduate of Harvard
College with a bachelor's degree in classics (Latin), and he earned his law
degree from Harvard Law School in 1959. He is a member of the American Law
Institute and has lectured and written articles on the Internet, intellectual
property and communications law.
Lawrence C. Martin — Director of Finance and
Administration

Lawrence C. Martin has 20 years of experience in both the for-profit and
nonprofit sectors. He is a certified public accountant and the former chief
financial officer of the Center for Health Policy Studies, Inc. He also was
part owner of an e-commerce Web site for downloading healthcare demographic
data. Additionally, Martin has served as a financial and technical consultant
for such companies as National Public Radio, AT&T Wireless and Strategic
Publications Inc.
A native of Indiana, Martin is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington,
with a master's of science in information management pending submission of his
thesis.
Pamela Miller — Director, Operations and Compliance

Pamela Miller joined Public Interest Registry (PIR) in June 2003 as senior
manager of projects. Miller has more than 15 years of program and contract
management experience. Most recently, she was a contract manager/compliance
officer at VeriSign. She also has 10 years of customer service, training
management and classroom instruction experience working with the Science
Application International Corporation and the Computer Technology Group.
Miller has a bachelor's degree from National Louis University.
Neick Newman — Controller

Neick Newman has eight years of experience working for small to midsized
organizations as well as large multinational corporations in both the
for-profit and nonprofit sectors. His broad experience includes working on
business policy and procedures and implementing new business processes in the
retail, construction, nonprofit associations and technology industries.
Newman graduated from George Mason University with a bachelor's degree in
accounting.
Christine Lee — Administrative Analyst

Christine Lee joined Public Interest Registry (PIR) in November 2005. Her professional background includes more than 20 years of extensive business administration experience in such areas as office management, human resources, event planning, contract management and facilities management. Prior to joining PIR, Lee served as director of administration for a number of technology companies in the Northern Virginia area, and she also has worked for nonprofit groups coordinating trade shows and fundraising events.
Lee is actively involved in community service work and provides support for fundraisers for local charities such as Capital Hospice, United Cerebral Palsy, Doorways for Women and Families, and Friends of Vale Schoolhouse.
